A Lathe Jaw or Lathe Jaw Chuck is a special tool and type of clamp that is used to hold rotating tools or materials with a lathe. The 3-jaw chuck uses three dogs (jaws) that are usually connected by a scroll gear / scroll plate and it holds a tool or a work piece in place.
